THE GOLD RUSH IN EIDSVOLL
For a short time, eastern parts of Eidsvoll were the site of a minor gold rush, when gold was found in 1758, and these areas are still known as Gullverket, (the Gold works). In Eidsvoll, you can also visit the emerald mine, the only one in the North of Europe (Byrud Gård - Eidsvoll).

SKIBLADNER - THE WORLD'S OLDEST PADDLE STEAMER
While you’re in Eidsvoll, why not take a trip with “Skibladner”, the oldest side-wheeler paddle steamer in the world, and enjoy the green hills and forests surrounding Mjøsa. Norway's largest lake, Mjøsa, is at its most spectacular, when experienced from the deck of the white swan. Since she was built in 1856, Skibladner has carried passengers, post and goods, to the surrounding towns and villages.
THE NORWEGIAN ARMED FORCES AIRCRAFT COLLECTION
From Eidsvoll, we take you in the direction of Oslo, Norway's main capital. On the route, you have the opportunity to visit the Norwegian Armed Forces Aircraft Collection. The museum is housed in a great modern building, located southwest of Oslo Airport, Gardermoen. The collection consists of more than 30 historic aircraft, and gives a unique insight into Norwegian military aviation, with several rare aircraft from the second World War.
The museum is part of a cultural park, and here, you can visit the museum of civil aviation, and also the Ullensaker Museum, which will provide an even deeper insight into the local history.
