RIDER SAFETY - EU GUIDES, REPORTS AND PROGRAMMES
Rider Safety ranks very high on ETR's list of priorities, and we work hard to promote a safe riding environment for riders to enjoy the ETR route. This is one of the reasons we avoid large cities and heavy traffic on motorways, and focus on well-maintained country roads. Below, you will find some interesting and informative guides and manuals relating to Rider Safety, produced by various panels and groups of experts in the field.
ADVERTISE DESTINATIONS, REGIONS, HOTELS, ATTRACTIONS, ROUTES, PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
ETR can promote and proliferate your municipality, region, destination, hotel chain, brand, products and services, throughout our network of touring clubs, groups, motorcycle riders and other tourists, through promotion on the ETR website and across our social media channels.
The morning passed all too quickly, with a breathtaking 230km ride over the hills from Trollstigen, 108 kilometres of which, brought us along Sognefjellet National Tourist Route, the highest mountain pass in Northern Europe, at 1,434 metres above sea level. The ride came to an end when Norway's highest mountain, Galdhøpiggen, suddenly came into view, meaning we had arrived at Jotunheimen National Park.

European Touring Route works to develop motorcycle tourism in Europe, and attract European and foreign motorcycle, car, camper van and bicycle tourists to travel in Europe.
We see an opportunity to work together with local motorcycle riders, who want to "combine business with pleasure”. We are looking for motorcycle riders who want to be our contacts around Europe, and take care of a defined geographical area.
WHAT IS AN ETR SITE?
An ETR Site is a hotel, motel, guest house, B&B, caravan park or camping ground, situated on, or within driving distance of the main European Touring Route. An ETR Site provides a range of tourism-specific services, and sells ETR products and services to the touring people that overnight there, and choose that ETR Site as their base, for exploration of the local area.
From Nordkapp to Cadiz, the European Touring Route leads the motorcycle tourist through wild scenery, along unspoiled and rugged coastlines, through breathtaking mountain ranges and over fertile rural landscapes, with interesting locations and ETR Sites, hotels, attractions, and places to visit and buy local products, along the way.
For motorcycle tourists, Europe has vast stretches of long winding hairpins, sections with many switchbacks, great coastal roads, mountain tunnels, spectacular bridges, and some of the most breathtaking mountain passes in the world. ETR ties all of those together, into one large route.
The route is designed to breathe new life into rural areas in each country, with a focus on rural towns and villages, secluded mountain and coastal areas, where locals can sell their produce, products and services to tourists using the ETR route.
ETR encourages and promotes Tourism, History, Culture, Geography, Gastronomy, Experiences, Attractions, Shopping, Wellness.
ETR brings the traveler to National Parks, Rural Villages, Castles, Museums, Exhibitions, Hotels, Restaurants, Bars, restaurants and great Café’s.
ETR is used by Motorcyclists, Car tourists, Camper Vans, Bicycles, Pilgrims, Walkers, Hikers, and other tourists and travellers.
